We are very passionate about SUP and surf, and have deep roots in the surf industry.
We try to bring surf atmosphere to the middle and eastern Jutland.
We are based in Central and Eastern Jutland, but have all our equipment on a large trailer, and are therefore very flexible. Please contact us if we need to come to you.

**Our Story: **
In January 2021 Jan Klitgaard started the company East Coast Surfers Silkeborg/Ry.
In March 2023, Jan's two good friends Lars Kiil and Anders Hansson joined, and today they are co-owners. In April 2023, the company changed its name to Shaka Life.

Jan, the owner, has more than 15 years of experience in the surf and sports industry, and his passion for SUP led him in his time to start the company. He loves water and is generally incredibly fond of nature.
Jan is one of our very skilled SUP instructors, and it is said that he looks pretty good in a wetsuit.

Anders, the owner, is as big a water dog as Lars, and they know each other very well from the kite environment.
He has been doing water sports all his life, and since he has just turned half a century, he has turned into quite a lot of trips on the water. He is, without a doubt, one of our most talented instructors.

Our goal is to get more happy people on the water and into nature.
Too many people suffer from stress and spend far too much time in front of a screen.
We want to help change that.
We always take on the water with great respect for nature and want to protect and care for it so that even more people can enjoy it.

**Shaka Life: **

What does that actually mean?
Whether you've surfed before or not, you've probably seen this hand sign somewhere.

The Shaka sign, also known as “hang-loose”, is used all over the globe in surfing. It's used by everyone, whether it's international athletes or hygge surfers to show they belong. What was once a hand sign used only by Hawaiian locals is now completely part of the surf lifestyle.

The hand sign originated in Hawaii, and surfers who visited the islands made it popular outside Hawaii. They took the Shaka far from the Volcano Islands and out to their respective countries.
In Hawaii, the Shaka sign is used everywhere by everyone, and it has many different meanings. It can be used to say “Thank you” or “Cool” or “Yes”, it can also mean “Hello” or “Goodbye”. However, when asked to define the hand sign, Hawaiians say that it is a sign of Aloha, i.e. appreciation and love, and that for them it is something that is part of their daily lives.

It's pretty amazing to have a hand sign that only symbolizes positivity and unites people around the world. Two surfers who don't know each other can instantly connect using the Shaka sign, and that's what we love about it!

This is exactly the lifestyle we want to symbolize and not only when we surf but also as part of daily life.

The wind in your hair, the water that whips up your cheeks and the adrenaline that pumps around your body as you whizz away on the water. Does that sound like something to you? Just get out there and try kitesurf.

You have probably seen the big “kites” or kites as it is called, around a lot of beaches and maybe you have long wanted to try it yourself. We can help you with that. Kitesurfing is shared by all types and ages. No matter what level, there is always a common good atmosphere out on the beach among the kitesurfers.

Kitesurf is not difficult to learn, you just need to commit to learning it, and an intro course is the right way to get started with this new water sport life...

This course is for those who want to get started safely and safely with one of the truly unique, cool and alluring water sports.

**This course includes use of the following: **

- Good quality kites & board

- Wetsuit, boots, vest, helmet & trapeze

- Well recognized kite instructor who has a huge passion for this cool water sport.

- The Shaka Life team has many years of experience in conducting kite courses.

- Review of maritime regulations

- Practice with trainerkite on land

Kitesurfing Intro Course

Get a sensual experience out on the water.

Anyone can participate, you don't need to know about SUP or yoga. We do overall yoga poses so everyone can join in.

Imagine lying out on the water, you feel the tiny rocking movements of the waves upending you. The sun warms your body, the birds fly in the sky above you. For the next 1.5 hours, all you have to do is enjoy the sensual experience of doing yoga on a SUP board.

It's super fun and challenging, and if you want to organize a bachelor party, team building, or just want to try a slightly different kind of yoga, this is just for you.

The course includes all necessary equipment, wetsuit and shoes.

SUP - Yoga

**The perfect choice for the daredevil who loves to give it gas on the water. **

WingFoil consists of 3 units that are used together.. a wing, which is a kind of “sail” that pulls you away. A board on which you stand. And finally, a foil that lifts you and the board out of the water, almost like flying... a water sport with lots of future in it, and now with the possibility of a course which is the right way to get started with the life of this new water sport...

This course is for those who want to get started safely and safely with one of the brand new and very exciting water sports. A unique water sport like WingFoil is that is growing all over the world, both for established surfers, but also attracts a lot of new people to the sport.

- Super cool quality wing, foil and board

- Wetsuit, boots, vest and helmet

The perfect event for team building with the company, a bachelor party or just a fun day with friends or family.

We provide a few hours of fun, with a focus on play and fun. 
We do not go into technical matters here, but of course there is still a good handle on safety.

With our mobile solution we can adapt to your needs and find the best places for your event.

SUP - Company/Bachelorette Party

The focus is on safety and the most basic techniques.

SUP - Intro Course Ry

Children (0-12 years)

Join us on a slightly longer but stunningly beautiful tour to Himmelbjerg starting and finishing from Skimminghøj in Ry.
The tour will take place at a calm pace, with a focus on social and fun and with inpatient rest breaks along the way. However, the tour requires you to have some experience with SUP, as it is not suitable for beginners.

Along the way there is plenty of time to enjoy the amazing scenery and if you wish, you can also get some tips and tricks on how to hone your technique so that it is suitable for longer trips.

Level: Medium
Time: about 4 hours.
Length: approx. 13 km.

The price includes all necessary SUP equipment, but of course you are also welcome to use your own.

Our small and stable sit-on-top kayaks are perfect for fun activities like kayak polo, balance exercises and other water games that put a smile on the face and master the technique.

Perfectly suited for bachelor parties and corporate holidays, where there is a certainty of a lot of fun and memorable moments.

Ideal for you and your friends, colleagues or others if you want to have a fun day on the water, where you compete against each other in small competitions.

What you get:

- 2 hours of fun and educational kayak training by an instructor.
- Sit-on-top kayak that is easy to steer and hard to overturn.

Our SUP Safety Course is an intensive hour where we provide you with the necessary knowledge and practical skills to navigate safely on the water.

- **Theory: ** We review the most important safety rules, the weather and wind impact, equipment selection, as well as how to stay safe in emergencies.

- **Practical Exercises: ** On the water, you'll learn how to handle your SUP in different conditions, how to get safely up on the board after falls, and what to do if you or others need help.
